Meta_Morphosis embodies the transformative power of human creativity. It reflects on our ability to shape the world around us, drawing from our collective experiences to forge a more sustainable future. The piece envisions innovation as a tool to empower adaptation and connection, fostering empathy and deeper ties amongst people and the planet.

THE ARTIST

Rabi (b. 1984) David Emanuel Mordechai Torres, an American artist with Puerto Rican and Polish roots, hails from Los Angeles. Growing up as a child of immigrants in Iowa and Southern California, he embraced the diverse essence of American life, evident in his art that explores themes of contradiction, duality, and sociopolitical philosophy. Rabi's artistic journey began as a graffiti writer, skateboarder, and muralist, collaborating with renowned artists in LA. His passion for creating art in public spaces blossomed through skateboarding and graffiti, complemented by his keen eye for capturing his personal world through video and photography. Co-founding the internationally acclaimed art collective CYRCLE in 2009 alongside David Leavitt and Devin Liston, Rabi expanded his love for public installation to a global audience. Over a decade, he honed his skills in video, design, photography, painting, and sculpture, exhibiting and working across continents - Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and North America.

Meta_Morphosis is located on the third and fourth floors of the Alley building, facing Manchcester Place. This piece is best viewed from Progress Park or along Broadway.
