Celeste Byers’ Protea murals infuse femininity and vibrancy into an unconventional setting. Depicting the resilient protea flower challenges traditional gender roles, asserting the importance of female voices in public spaces.
THE ARTIST
Celeste Byers (b. 1989) is a California-based artist specializing in awe-inspiring large-scale murals. With a BFA in Illustration from Art Center College of Design in 2012, she embarked on a remarkable journey as a freelance illustrator and muralist, leaving her mark across the globe and the United States. Having painted over 100 murals in countries like Mexico, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Taiwan, New Zealand, and Australia, Celeste's artistic prowess knows no bounds. Her illustrations have garnered recognition in publications from the US to Germany, France, and Hong Kong. Embracing the enchantment of the natural world and the mystical essence found in everyday life, Celeste aspires to remind others of the magic and beauty woven into our universe. Her extraordinary talent has attracted prominent clients, including Amazon, Airbnb, American Express, and Facebook, cementing her position as a celebrated artist who continues to inspire with her mesmerizing creations.
